As I sit here on our couch, I thought back on a lot of this mornings events.
Nothing out of the ordinary; nothing extreme took place – just a normal start to our day. But, in sitting back to reflect on it, I can’t help but want to fly knowing how absolutely blessed we are – I AM.
Bug has a GIANT mirror in his room. Both sliding closet doors are covered with two, bigger-than-life mirrors. His crib is placed next to them because, well, that’s just where it made sense when we moved here. I swear, that I think he has GOT to practice these bits when he wakes up in the mornings… ! When I open the door he gets this expression of shock on his face, and then jumps up to do a free-fall onto his back with an exclaimed “WHOOOOOOOOAA!!” in the process. This, along with several other “routines” and millions of shrieked giggles, is what I am greeted with every morning.
He’s always so dramatic. If he makes a goof, he will (literally) drag one of us to the site of the scene, slapping his hands to his head followed by an “UH OOOOOH!”
Now aside from his class-clown ranked humor, this kid is great around the house! Yeah, my two-year-old is OBSESSED with cleaning. He puts his dishes in the sink after meals, puts away his Legos and books when he’s done… but it doesn’t stop there! A couple of days ago, he found that the kitties leave hair stuck underneath one of the chairs they love to hibernate under. My boy stuffed himself as far under this chair as he could, to pick the cat hair from under the chair!! He didn’t even bother bringing it to me (as he usually does when he finds trash. He will show it to me and then throw it away). He was taking it all straight to the trash can! I had to stop and ask him what on earth he was doing, and when he showed me I could NOT stop laughing!!! Daddy got an instant phone call. Yep, future OCD in the making! I must have rubbed off on him… And I think I forgot to mention that he has a mini Dirt Devil that “turns on” to make noise and the wheels creak when it rolls. My floors are vacuumed a minimum of once a day. The dirt may not be completely gone, but hey, it still counts, right??!
But not only those things. He has the biggest little heart. He absolutely loves snuggling on the cats. I love the way that he will pull you to position you EXACTLY how he sees fit, so he can wiggle right up next to you to read the giant pile of books he sat down next to him. Food on the floor after meal-times is taken care of, too… right in the trash it goes!
So now I’m sitting here, in my quiet apartment while my sweet-hearted little Bug naps. I was able to get all my work done for the morning, and start planning BIRTHDAY plans for next weekend. ACK! That’s a whole new post! Bug’s second birthday is in LESS than a week… le sigh!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I think I will get the mini dirt devil so I can put my 4 year old son to work! God bless!
Lol, that vacuum actually doesn’t DO any picking up, but it’s the thought that counts, right?? I know they do have one that does really work somewhere, though. Not sure how much it costs, however…
